Practice Start-Up
  •  Facility setup - procurement of fixed assets: computers, scanners, printers, servers, medical equipment, phone system, signage, time attendance system, break room, and decor.

 

  • Setting up vendors including ISP (email/high speed), phone company (phone/fax/voicemail), shredding service, dosimetry, alarm/security, linen/uniforms service, collections agency, answering/paging service, merchant card services (credit card), payroll and/or bookkeeping services.
     

  •  Financial: incorporate practice, register practice with medical board, obtain Federal and state tax IDs, obtain employer ID, lockbox for receiving payments.

 

  • Evaluate/select EMR, create all patient intake forms, request fee schedules from payers.

 

  • Follow all credentialing guidelines for state medical board, DEA, payers, malpractice carrier, clearinghouse, and hospital privileges.

 

  • Determine staff requirements, write job descriptions, develop organizational chart, prepare personnel files, recruit and train staff

 

  • Implement OSHA and HIPAA requirements

 

  • Marketing: logo, practice name, ads, business cards, brochures, office stationery, web site, email addresses, notify referring practices, open house.
